What is life without discovery?
Recently, I took a trip to the Air and Space Museum, where the space shuttle Discovery rests. It’s pretty awe-inspiring to see something so massive that has carried so many explorers into space, into the unknown. To all of the astronauts that have risked literally everything to discover, to learn, to explore, I admire you. We can always learn from your risk taking personalities.
Who Are The Risk Takers?
But you don’t have to be an astronaut to chart your own course and discover the world and the realm of the unknown. There are people like this all around us; astronauts disguised as entrepreneurs, pilots, and even grandparents. These people have something that others don’t, the risk gene. It’s a spirit of adventure and spontaneity, as well as a zest for learning and life. They care beyond words and are invested in leaving the world a better place than when they came into it. These hidden astronauts are truly special because no matter who they are they have a unique perspective and understanding of life, what’s important, and finding happiness.
I love a wonderful person who has an inherently strong risk gene. I learn from him every day, just like he learned from his own astronaut in disguise. I hope everyone has someone like this in their life to show you that there is so much more to this journey than meets the eye.
But just like the Discovery, all journeys come to an end. And when it does, I hope you are able to look back at it in silent awe. Look at everything that you have accomplished and inspired unto others, and thank the people that have gotten you there. It’s not a single man’s journey to conquer alone. The grandiosity is so much bigger than one person. That is the true magic.
Learn From The Past
To explore more about the genes inherent in me, I completed the AncestryDNA test. There is an incredible amount of information you can learn from looking at who your family was, where they lived, and what they endured. Try it out! Who knows what you will discover!
